Job Description

Create profitable bulk liquid bitumen/asphalt transactions. Exploit optionality as to trade flows and particular molecular quality grades. Utilize and develop employment for company high temperature specialty shipping assets. While the base geographic area of responsibility is North America, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and Latin America, a global perspective for trade opportunities is to be actively engaged. Additional responsibilities:

Perform quantitative and statistical analyses to calculate risk management strategies.
Develop asphalt trading and optimization strategy for the Americas.
Work on potential acquisitions of asphalt terminals and refineries.
Work with and mentor members of the US Bitumen Team.
Support other desks on cross selling of other commodities when required. Manage and monitor US Bitumen P&L.
Conduct regular communication and collaboration with UK and Singapore offices.
Requires 15% domestic and international travel.

Qualifications

Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business, Engineering, or a related field and 6 years of experience performing commercial sales and trading activities of fossil fuel products. OR Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business, Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of experience performing commercial sales and trading activities of fossil fuel products.
Experience (6 yrs w/ MS or 8 yrs w/ Bach.) to include:

hedging fuel oil and crude oil pricing, foreign exchange, and commodity with timing risk management;
using knowledge of specifications of oil products (bitumen and asphalt) required by buyers and produced by sellers;
developing and supporting relationships with oil products (bitumen and asphalt) producers and suppliers;
and applying knowledge of ships with capability to carry bitumen and asphalt products to execute trades.

5 years of experience to include:

utilizing Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) market data to execute futures;
and applying knowledge of Asphalt Publications, Poten & Partners and Argus Asphalt to execute trade transactions.

2 years of experience utilizing Bloomberg Market System platform.
