Key Responsibilities
Daily engagement with coal producers to gather updates on coal availability related to both structured finance (STF) deals and our trading partners.
Communicate production data and operational insights to senior Australian traders and sales-side traders globally.
Manage and track coal stockpile levels and blending activities across QLD operations.
Collect and consolidate production and sales data from all STF deals to inform marketing and sales strategy.
Liaise regularly with coal operations teams (mine, port, rail) to ensure smooth delivery of product to customers.
Provide input on coal blending strategies based on quality parameters and logistics.
Support commercial decision-making with accurate, data-driven insights.
Develop and maintain advanced Excel models and PowerPoint presentations for internal/external reporting and strategy updates.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience Requirements
Technical & Industry Knowledge
3–5 years' experience in coal mining or related mining operations.
Strong understanding of mine site operations, coal logistics (mine, port, and rail), and quality control.
Experience in coal blending and quality assessment is highly advantageous.
Familiarity with structured finance arrangements is a plus but not required.
Skills
Advanced Excel skills (modelling, data analysis, pivot tables).
Proficient in PowerPoint; able to deliver clear, concise, and visually effective presentations.
Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate technical information into commercial insights.
Excellent interpersonal and face-to-face communication skills.
Highly organized with a structured and methodical approach to information gathering and reporting.
